This clip is from an October, 2010 trip to Calgary with Simon Whitfield, where I was helping shoot video for an online triathlon community that he and others are launching spring, 2011.

This video is just a quick sample shot from some of the underwater stuff we worked on while I was there. I used a GoPro HD Hero, with the Eyeofmine underwater lens. Thought it came out pretty cool!

A day in the life with Brandon Jennings of the Milwaukee Bucks. Shot around the Los Angeles area for Under Armour and Slam Magazine.

I had a lot of fun putting this together. There wasn’t much of a plan while we were shooting but to really show a day in the life with Brandon during his off season – one on one with a six year old, Roscoes chicken and Waffles, a photoshoot with SLAM Magazine, and some basketball.

“Shot in Saddam Hussein’s hilltop palace in the mountains overlooking the River Tigris, Theatre of War is a slow, virtually static video piece redolent of classical history painting. Audio was recorded at the official US military hand-over ceremony at the nearby city of Saniya. A mullah’s prayer for unity among Arabs is spoken, after which the pan-Arab national anthem, Mawtini (My Homeland) is played, emphasizing Arab national solidarity and a pan-Arab territory. Made in Iraq in March 2009.”

Ryan Park is a self-proclaimed social media nerd. Often going by @BigRyanPark, this guy knows everything there is to know in the realm of Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, etc.

Ryan is on the verge of starting up his new venture, titled The Adventurous 500. His goal is to do something awesome in the state of Colorado, for 500 straight days. All the while he will be making little videos and posting them to his YouTube channel. While I could go on about what he’ll be up to, it might be better to just let him do the talking.

Centurion Cycling Colorado

I shot an event video for Centurion Cycling‘s inaugural race out in Boulder, Colorado. I believe about 800 racers showed up, and the event was a smashing success. Great weather and really well run by NA Sports (the same people that brought Ironman to North America). I think these races are going to become pretty popular over the next few years. I’m going to have to go and get a bike now.

Under Armour Basketball Shoot with Brandon Jennings

Right after the Centurion race, I jumped on a plane and flew out to LA to do a two day Under Armour Basketball shoot with Brandon Jennings. He’s a pretty cool dude

Here’s a frame from the video I was shooting. The project is still coming together and will pop up on the web in the next month or so.

Family Time in New Jersey

I then flew to the East and met up with my parents, my sister, and her family. It was my first time meeting my niece Eleanor. She’s a cool chick.

Under Armour Baseball Shoot in NYC

I went down and worked on an Under Armour baseball shoot with Jose Reyes from the New York Mets. Pretty much all I did was cruise around the NYC and CitiField for the day and shot timelapses. I had a press pass so I could go pretty much anywhere I wanted, sort of.

Camping on Saranac Lake

I went up to my hometown and spent some time at my parent’s house. My other sister and her family came up and we went camping out on Saranac Lake.

Under Armour Women’s Fitness Shoot

I then went down to Baltimore/Washington DC with Under Armour to do a shoot for their Fall Women’s Fitness line. It was pretty funny because my lovely girlfriend Ryann was one of the models in the shoot. Here are some video frames I quickly pulled.

Centurion Cycling Wisconsin

From the UA Women’s Fitness shoot I made my way to the Mid-West for Centurion Cycling’s second race in Middleton, Wisconsin. We got hit with some crazy weather – heavy rain, wind, and lighting – all of which wasn’t too great for a cycling event. Still, the race went off and was definitely another success.

Centurio Cycling recently had its premier race in Colorado, with two more events scheduled for Wisconsin and Canada later this summer. Visit CenturionCycling.com for more info on their events.

I went out and shot a little promo/recap video for the race and Centurion Cycling. This event is pretty cool – I’m planning on picking up a bike in the near future, with hopes of completing the 50 next summer.

Stuff I Used

As of August, the notorious residence of 1010 11th Street in Boulder will no longer be. After 3 destructive years and 14 different people living here, we’re finally moving out.

I began the process by heading to the basement and going through the piles upon piles of costumes, clothing, and various paraphernalia that has collected over the years.

Here are some notables…

Some nice wrestling gear.

A non-matching pair of heels and a lovely fireman’s hat.

A singular rock climbing shoe, a g-string with a convenient frontal hole, and a thomas the tank engine costume.

A cute black purse and some red snakeskin pleather pants.

In addition, I found some notebooks with some great stuff in them – circa 2007

My friend Gus Kenworthy showed me this video and I think it rules. This swim spot has to be one of the cooler rope swings I’ve ever seen. I’m going to have to shoot a bit while I’m home in Lake Placid to show off “The Flume”, which is an upstate NY version of Bakers Bridge.

Unfortunately the Sammy Calson Invitational didn’t go off as planned due to heavy rain and foggy conditions. So, some of the crew gathered together for a BBQ and private jump session, making good use of the jump which had been built for the event. Sammy managed to put down the first ever switch triple on skis (which can be seen below).

Haiti Earthquake Aftermath

“A week after the devastating earthquake hit Haiti, I was hired to shoot ENG footage for two international networks. This is a montage of personal footage I shot of the aftermath during my spare time, in and around Port au Prince. We were in Haiti for a total of 6 days in which 2 of those days were spent traveling to and from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

In regards to equipment, we traveled very lightly as security and logistics were our main concerns at that time. Once again the Kessler Pocket Dolly proved to be an essential tool in capturing my images.”
